10 YOUTHS GROUPS IN LAINI SABA UNITE TO START MATATU SERVICES.

IMG_3224

Even the heavy rainfall could not stop the laini saba & mashimoni youths from getting together on 18th Sunday october 2015 for the first-ever Mashi/Laini youth regional meeting. Ten youth groups each with 3 DEDICATED representatives convened first thing on Sunday morning at the GYFF office ready to speak in one voice and to establish one umbrella SACCO that facilitate effective mainstreaming of t youth priorities in the area.

IMG_3246

GYFF consulted more than ten youth groups in the area, arranged and invited all the groups to the meeting which brought together the youths to exchange ideas, experiences and suggestions on activation of  MATATU services that will create employment for the youths in kibera, Mashimoni and laini saba in particular. And that besides promoting peace, the newly constructed road can change the face of youth development hence reducing things like unemployment, hunger, violence and drug abuse among them.

President Uhuru Kenyatta yet to read another open letter from GYFF concerning the NYS Project in kibera

youth

Dear Mr. President,

We, Ghetto Youth Focus Foundation ( GYFF)  salute you. This  letter is not written in any spirit of hate or disrespect. Nor is it motivated in any way by political bias. It is written with respect due to the office and the awesome tasks that have been laid on your shoulders as the president of the republic of Kenya. As you may have noticed, Your Excellency, Ghetto Youth Focus Foundation (GYFF) is a non-political, non-religious, non-tribal youth foundation that was founded in kibera in the year 2006 by a group of young men and women who came together mainly to share their ideas and to see how they could benefit from their individual talents and abilities.  In exploring their talents and abilities they would be empowered economically and socially.

We, therefore, only write this letter to express our worry about the National Youth services Project at our area code of Nairobi in kibera which has been halted. Our biggest concern is that the project has greatly generated income for the youths and women for about one year hence providing them with the basic needs; and by stopping the project, some of our fellow youths may loose focus and turn their minds into crime and other vices which may hinder our national development. And your fight against drug abuse could also soon get bigger and stronger enemies if the the NYS project is not addressed as soon as possible. We have tested the sweet fruits of the NYS project since it has kept many youths busy and away from crime and drug abuse. And we understand that the project can do even better now that some most of us have saved in the SACCO which can be used later to start our own businesses.

Your Excellency, Mr. Uhuru Kenyatta, we hope that you will put our outcry into consideration and bring things to normal again.

Thank you for your public service.

Sincerely,

Geoffrey Ochieng Oyoo,

Creative Director,
